Holistic Wellness Consultation/Nutritional & Lifestyle coaching
Teaching people how applying natural lifestyle approaches can act to facilitate the body’s healing and health building potential.
Holistic Wellness involves the following core ideas:
The healing power of nature (Vis medicatrix naturae) In the right environment, the body can heal itself.
First, do no harm (Primum non nocere) Focus is on the natural life force of the individual
Viewing the whole person (Holism) Instead of only looking at symptoms, holistic wellness looks at the ‘whole person’ by considering the body, mind and spirit.
Prevention Preventative health emphasizes in building health for better, healthier lives.
Holistic wellness focuses on the individual and support the individual as a whole. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, naturopathy looks at the whole person and addresses where there may be some imbalance. Imbalances may be due to faulty nutritional patterns, improper rest, stress management and other lifestyle considerations, which over time, result in a weakening of the body.
Our body tells us early on when there is a problem and we can either respond to this message or try to suppress the symptoms that the body uses to tell us there is a problem. You can take ibuprofen or other drugs to suppress the symptoms and they will help for a short time. However, unless the underlying problem is corrected, eventually the symptoms will no longer be helped by these drugs and one will need to take stronger and stronger drugs to quiet the body’s message. If the underlying problem has not been addressed, the body will begin to break down structurally. At this time modern medicine is finally capable of diagnosing that something is really wrong and offer interventions to fix the structure, but still medical doctors fail to address the underlying problem.
The Holistic Wellness model concentrates on identifying destructive aspects in lifestyles that lead to imbalances. Before symptoms manifest and long before a diagnosis can be rendered, these destructive aspects of our lifestyle can be identified and corrected. Once corrected, the body automatically corrects itself. Diagnosing disease and illness is totally unnecessary to correcting the underlying problems that result in disease and illness. A true healer does not waste his time concentrating on naming diseases but rather on identifying those underlying factors that if not addressed result in the manifestation of disease and illness. These factors can be identified and corrected long before it is even possible to make any diagnosis. The concepts of holistic healing is based on restoring balance.

Ayurveda & Herbalism consultation
Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. Although suppressed during years of foreign occupation, Ayurveda has been enjoying a major resurgence in both its native land and throughout the world. Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine both have their roots in Ayurveda. Early Greek medicine also embraced many concepts originally described in the classical ayurvedic medical texts dating back thousands of years.
More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life,Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the proper use of our senses, Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.
Recognizing that human beings are part of nature, Ayurveda describes three fundamental energies that govern our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation, and structure. Known in Sanskrit as Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Earth), these primary forces are responsible for the characteristics of our mind and body.
Each of us has a unique proportion of these three forces that shapes our nature. If Vata is dominant in our system, we tend to be thin, light, enthusiastic, energetic, and changeable. If Pitta predominates in our nature, we tend to be intense, intelligent, and goal-oriented and we have a strong appetite for life. When Kapha prevails, we tend to be easy-going, methodical, and nurturing. Although each of us has all three forces, most people have one or two elements that predominate.
For each element, there is a balanced and imbalance expression. When Vata is balanced, a person is lively and creative, but when there is too much movement in the system, a person tends to experience anxiety, insomnia, dry skin, constipation, and difficulty focusing. When Pitta is functioning in a balanced manner, a person is warm, friendly, disciplined, a good leader, and a good speaker. When Pitta is out of balance, a person tends to be compulsive and irritable and may suffer from indigestion or an inflammatory condition. When Kapha is balanced, a person is sweet, supportive, and stable but when Kapha is out of balance, a person may experience sluggishness, weight gain, and sinus congestion.
An important goal of Ayurveda is to identify a person’s ideal state of balance and determine where they may be out of balance.

Reiki & Energy Alignment
Reiki is energy medicine from Japanese lineage. The Reiki practitioner will place their hands just above the person receiving the reiki, including the head, arms, hands, body, legs, and feet. Each position will typically be held for a few minutes, but sometimes a practitioner may linger a little in those areas that need extra Reiki attention before moving on to the next. Reiki is a very relaxing modality and a session usually lasts about 60 mins. Please inquire if you wish to know more specifics.
